International school
The Edge is an international school, established in the Netherlands, in which teachers and students from all over the world work together. The working language is English. The campus for the school is located at De Voorde (Laag Zuthem, near Zwolle). De Voorde is a like an inn, hosting several programs and institutions aimed at personal and spiritual growth. Together with The Edge they form a knowledge center for healing and education. The resultis a very fruitful synergy. The School has at its disposal beautiful classrooms, a meditation room, a lounge, a study room. There are facilities for internet-connections (the School has a few computers, but students are advised to bring their own laptops), video and audio. There is a piano. There are fields for sports. There is a beautiful garden. Of particular interest is the fact that the Voorde is located on the beautiful estate of Den Alerdinck, were one can stroll and enjoy nature. Longer hikes by foot and bicycle in the surroundings are not only possible but a treat. The nearby city of Zwolle offers the pleasures of a small city, while Amsterdam is only an hour and a half away. The students are lodged in simple but comfortable single or double rooms, each with its own shower and toilet. Apart from the common study (library) this is also a good place to study. The quality of the meals is excellent (some students will participate in the kitchen crew under the leadership of professional cooks). Free coffee and tea are at your disposal. In other words: this is a great place to live and study. While the place invites as it where your insight and inspires youto deepen your understanding, it is also an excellent place to relax and enjoy. Thus the sometimes hard and strenuous process of learning becomes embedded in a life of harmony and joy.The School then takes on the characteristics of a retreat. Intercultural contact is an essential characteristic of the school. Teachers and students from all over the world work together to broaden their vision and to deepen their understanding. Students come form everywhere, although an overrepresentation from Europe and Northern America may be expected. |
